Waxing do's and don'ts

At WAXcetera, we want you to have the most positive waxing experience possible.  Please read carefully and adhere to these guidelines to achieve your best wax ever!

Before Waxing

If you have been shaving, please grow your hair out for 1-2 weeks.

No products that contain retinoids, glycolic or salicylic acids at least 7 days before your facial waxing appointment.

If you have been taking Accutane, you MUST stop use 6-12 months before being waxed.

If you have had a chemical peel, you must wait at least 4 weeks before being waxed.

No prolonged sun exposure or tanning 3 days prior to you wax appointment.

Spray tans and self tanners are best used at least 48 hours AFTER waxing.

If you wear contacts, please remove them prior to eyelash tinting services.

After Waxing

Avoid sun exposure for 24 hours as it can cause burns and discoloration of the waxed skin.

Avoid tight clothing and underwear immediately after waxing.

Postpone your normal workout routine for at least 2 hours.

No swimming, hot/tubs, hot showers, heavy lotions, oils or exfoliation for at least 48 hours.

After 48 hours do a mild exfoliation.

No retinoids, glycolic or salicylic acids for 5 days. 

Avoid shaving between appointments.

Talk with your esthetician about your skin:
